What a difference a good trim can make!

This horse is a 10 year old Warmblood pasture pet (he has never been ridden for various reasons). I suspect his farrier would not trim his hind feet because it was difficult for the horse to balance and hold his foot up.

The top row is before my first trim.

The second row is after the first trim. There was more I could have taken off if he could have stood up on one hind foot longer, but I was not willing to stress him out and hurt him.

The third row is after the second trim, 5 weeks later. The horse is moving better and is far more comfortable than he was before!
